  • American Kidney Fund - nonprofit organization provides individual grants, pharmacy grants, disaster relief, emergency travel grants, discount pharmacy program, Renagel Assistance Program for hemodialysis patients (supported by Genzyme), and a health insurance assistance program (supported by donations from dialysis providers and others); applications through clinic social workers
  • American Organ Transplant Association - nonprofit organization helps people set up trust funds to raise money for organ transplant surgery and follow-up care
  • Benefits CheckUp - website by the National Council on the Aging helps thousands every day to find programs for people ages 55 and over that may pay for some of their costs of prescription drugs, health care, utilities, and other essential items or services.
  • Benefit Eligibility Estimate Screening Tool - an interactive tool to help you find out what Social Security benefits you may qualify to get based on your situation. By completing the forms on the site, you are NOT applying for help. Social Security does not keep the information you share.

  • Give Forward - empower friends and family to send love and financial support to patients as they navigate a medical crisis; since Aug of 2009, they have helped patients and their families raise over $4 million for things like co-pays on expensive medicine, travel, lodging for treatment in other cities, and experimental treatments not covered by insurance

  • National Kidney Foundation - many NKF affiliates offer limited financial help; find your affiliate by state or zip code
